Sign up for this 3-day Masai Mara National Reserve tour to see the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino). Day 1: Nairobi to masai mara This morning, we will pick you up from the hotel/airport, and we depart from Nairobi at 7.30 am and drive through the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. Continue with the safari to Masai Mara Game Reserve. This enormous reserve is part of the vast Serengeti plains, famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration. It is home to the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Lunch at the camp/lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive. The Mara Game Reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses in the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see. The wild animals in the park are Masai giraffe, buffalo, eland and thousands of plain game, including impala, zebra, and grass gazelles. Overnight and meals at the Mara Chui Resort. Day 2: full day game drives Optional: Today, there will be a possibility to take a hot air balloon ride. Take to the skies for the ultimate Maasai Mara wildlife adventure, soaring in a hot air balloon over herds of game to the inner reaches of the Mara. You'll ascend in the early morning when the winds are calmest. Watch as the professional crew fills the balloon with hot air. Slowly, the big, colourful bag begins to bulge and take shape. Now board the traditional wicker gondola basket while the expert pilot makes final adjustments. As the pink and red fireball of the sun rises in splendour over the plains, you're up, up and away - for the flight of a lifetime! Your balloon can soar over the most inaccessible and undisturbed parts of the Mara, with only the intermittent whisper of the balloon's gas burners punctuating the silence of your majestic flight. If you do not opt for the balloon, spend a whole day viewing the great predators and explore the park's amazingly high concentration of wild animals. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals, plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During the stay, we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Overnight and meals at the Mara Chui Resort. Day 3: masaimara to nairobi Early morning breakfast at the lodge, then depart for Nairobi by road. The safari ends in Nairobi late in the afternoon.
