Description

Enjoy a prompt pick-up from your carefully chosen accommodation for a full-day tour of Amboseli National Park. Take a magnificent three-hour journey across Maasai territory in an executive 4x4 Suv. You will see the magnificence of Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, which is viewable from the park. Peer through your binoculars at over four hundred varieties of birds, from flamingoes to pelicans, as you enjoy the comfort of a customized tour van. Within 3 – 4 hours we will arrive and start the adventure with our first game drive. With Mt. Kilimanjaro as our background (weather permitting), you’ll see the herds of protected elephants, many sporting immense ivory tusks. For even more wildlife viewing, we’ll take a ride up to Observation Hill. This vantage point will give us an overall vista of the entire park. Check out the swamps below where the elephants gather daily. You can also walk about the hill as it’s one of the few places in the park you can explore on foot. The birdlife is also abundant in Amboseli, especially around the swamp and marshlands of the park. You’ll find raptors and also water birds like pelican, Pink flamingoes, crake and kingfisher and others. Another unique feature here is the indigenous Maasai people who live within the park’s borders. If you’d like you can take an optional visit with the Maasai to meet them and learn about their culture and lifestyle (time permitting) We’ll settle in at Oltukai lodge for lunch, one of the nicest restaurants in the park at around 1.30 p.m. and enjoy a sumptuous lunch or you may carry your own picnic lunch to be enjoyed at the observation hill. After lunch we shall have a short enroute game drive of the day. This will be a shorter tour, but we may spot elephants roaming from the marshes as they tend to later in the day. Having taken in the best of Amboseli, we head back to the highway and to the capital city of Nairobi, arriving in the evening. This has been a full day of sights, sounds, magnificent wildlife and a glimpse into the safari life in Africa. Relax over lunch at one of the park lodges, before having the opportunity to visit a Maasai village. Snap memorable photos of buffalo, impala, and wildebeest en route. See less
