Description
Your 4-hour trip will begin with a visit to the Giraffe Center, made famous by Daisy Rothschild, a giraffe calf rescued from the Western Kenya border. Here you will learn more about the efforts made to conserve an endangered species of giraffe known as the Rothschild Giraffe. The Giraffe Centre is the creation of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya), a Kenyan non-profit organization. Their main purpose is to educate Kenyan school children and youth on their country’s wildlife and environment, as well as give local and international visitors an opportunity with the world’s tallest species, the giraffe. Continue with a drive to Karen Blixen's home, made famous by the film, Out of Africa. Karen Blixen lived in the house from 1917 to 1931, when the farm was sold and she left Kenya. Now a museum, this property and the surrounding Ngong Hills were made famous in the book and then the movie ‘Out of Africa’. It is a must see for all Danes and lovers of African history and romance. From the garden, enjoy magnificent views of the Ngong Hills. Visit nearby Kazuri Ltd. where African women offer paintings and necklaces for sale.Includes
