Discover the wildlife of Samburu National Reserve on a 3-day safari from Nairobi. Enjoy game drives and the chance to see elephants, giraffes, lions, wild dogsand more. samburu is a home to the rare northern 'special five': Grevy zebras, Somali ostrich' reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the beisa oryx. Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve (L, D) After being picked up from your Nairobi accommodation or the airport, travel via the central highlands of Kenya. Admire views of coffee, tea, sisal, pineapple, and other farming activities. See Mount Kenya from a distance, complete with its snow-capped peaks. In the afternoon, enjoy a game viewing drive through the Samburu, Shaba, and Buffalo Springs reserves. Day 2: Full Day at Samburu National Reserve (B, L, D) Spend the day with game viewing drives and relaxing interludes at the Samburu Game Reserve. Concentrate on game viewing drives in this dry and scenic game reserve along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. This is where most wildlife is found, such as elephants, giraffes, zebra, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, oryx, and other animal species. Day 3: Samburu to Nairobi (B, L) Begin with a morning game viewing drive at Samburu. Then, take an exit game viewing drive before departing Samburu for Nairobi with a lunch stop en-route. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon, at which point you will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or the airport.
