Description

Embark on a 2-day safari from Nairobi to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Discover the wildlife of the conservancy, including the Big Five, and see the equator line on the way. Day 1: Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy At 7:00 AM, be picked up from your Nairobi hotel and head to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. On the way, stop at the equator line, an imaginary line that divides the earth into 2 hemispheres: north and south. Take a photo at the big sign before continuing your journey. Arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon, depart for a game viewing drive. Return to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner and rest at the camp/lodge. Ol Pejeta is a privately owned game reserve, overlooking the peaks of Mount Kenya. The conservancy has a great number of wildlife including all the Big Five animals (elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, and buffalo) among other game. The conservancy also has a special sanctuary that shelters several rare and endangered species including black rhino, Grevy’s zebra, the Jackson’s hartebeest, and chimpanzees. The chimpanzee sanctuary is the only one in Kenya. It is a home for orphaned and abused chimpanzees, rehabilitating them to help them learn to live by themselves as in their own habitat. Day 2: Ol Pejeta to Nairobi After an early breakfast at the camp, proceed for a morning game drive and enroute to Nairobi with a drop off at your hotel or the airport.
