Description
Day 1: Arrival – Journey to Boni Forest Depart early from Lamu or Garissa by 4x4 safari vehicle. Drive through the Hindi – Bargoni – Bodhei route, with scenic views of coastal forests and local villages. Stop at Bargoni Ranger Post for registration and a briefing with KWS rangers. Continue to Bodhei or Milimani Camp Site, located at the park’s edge. Set up tents and have a picnic lunch. Take an afternoon guided forest walk with a ranger and local guide to learn about the flora, medicinal plants, and forest ecology. Return to camp before dusk. Enjoy a campfire dinner prepared by your cook or guide. Spend the night under the stars with the sounds of the forest and storytelling by Aweer (Boni) community members. Day 2: Wildlife Tracking & Cultural Experience Have an early breakfast at camp. Head out for a morning wildlife tracking walk or drive with a ranger escort. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, bushbuck, monkeys, and various bird species like the African crowned eagle and Clarke’s weaver. Optionally, visit the Lag Badana Wetlands for bird watching and photography. Return to camp for lunch and a short rest. Visit a nearby Aweer (Boni) community village to experience their traditional way of life — hunting, honey gathering, and forest crafts. Participate in a short cultural performance or storytelling session. Return to camp and freshen up. Prepare dinner with your guide and relax by the campfire. Day 3: Morning Nature Walk & Departure Have a light breakfast at camp. Take an optional short bird-watching walk or nature trail near the campsite. Break camp and depart for Lamu or Garissa. Stop at Bargoni or Kiunga Marine Reserve (optional) for a scenic picnic or coastal view. Arrive in Lamu by evening for an overnight stay or onward journey.Includes
