5 days Mt. Kenya climbing package via Sirimon down Chogoria route is a guided expedition designed to take climbers on a memorable journey to reach Point Lenana, the third-highest peak on Mount Kenya. The package is perfect for solo hikers or individuals seeking to join a group, offering stunning landscapes, expert guidance, and a safe environment for an incredible climbing experience Sirimon-Chogoria route is preferred by some hikers because , compared to some other routes, the Sirimon down Chogoria route tends to have fewer climbers, creating a more tranquil and less crowded experience Itinerary Day 1: Nairobi to Nanyuki Embark on a morning journey from Nairobi led by our expert mountain guide, reaching Nanyuki just in time for a savory lunch. Spend the afternoon acclimatizing amidst the breathtaking Mount Kenya region, exploring the historic Mau Mau Caves – a refuge for freedom fighters during World War II. Your evening will be filled with a delightful dinner and a restful stay at a charming hotel in Nanyuki. Day 2: Nanyuki to Old Moses Hut Rise to an early breakfast, gearing up for an adventurous drive to the Sirimon Park Gate. The next five hours will be a thrilling ascent to Old Moses Camp at 3,330 meters above sea level. Bask in the serenity of the surroundings, savor lunch, and relish the evening at the Old Moses Hut, setting the stage for the heart of your mountain expedition. Day 3: Old Moses Hut to Shiptons Hut Emerge with the sun, enjoy a hearty breakfast, and embark on a hike from Old Moses Camp through the enchanting Mackinders Valley to the elevated Shipton Camp at 4,200 meters. Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty and diverse nature of the area, with lunch and dinner becoming memorable affairs at the Shipton Hut, where you'll spend the night. Day 4: Shipton Point to Lenana, Mintos Hut, Chogoria Hut Awaken at the crack of dawn and ascend to Point Lenana (4,985m), where a spectacular African sunrise unfolds, revealing views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Elgon, and the Indian Ocean. Descend to Mintos (4,250m) for breakfast, then trek to Road-head for lunch. Continue the adventure to Chogoria Hut, where dinner and your overnight stay await, completing an exhilarating day of conquering peaks. Day 5: Chogoria Hut to Nairobi Post-breakfast, hike to Chogoria Gate and onward to Chogoria Town for a well-deserved lunch before your transfer back to Nairobi. As you return in the late afternoon, relish in the triumph of having conquered the awe-inspiring Mt. Kenya! Note that the final 32km stretch from Chogoria Hut to the park gate offers an optional walk, with a Jeep ride available and organized by your guide (additional cost not included in the package, shareable among participants).
