Greetings. My name is Almasi, the only woman woodcarver in Lamu Island, Kenya. I invite you to share in a truly unique and immersive experience with the local culture by learning Traditional Swahili Woodcarving techniques that have been passed down through the generations. Enjoy the 3-hour class at the tranquil Earth Love Healing Center Garden in Shela, Lamu Island where I hold my classes, or have me come to your home or hotel. The interactive woodcarving class is suitable for beginners - both children and adults. I have everything you need for the class, so come as you are. Refreshments are also provided. Each lesson guarantees you your own handmade souvenir, as well as lifelong woodcarving skills and a deeper appreciation for traditional crafting.
