Description
Step beyond the beaches of Diani and experience one of Kenya’s most respected traditional crafts: handwoven baskets made using techniques passed down through generations.
In this immersive 2-hour Diani cultural workshop, local elder women welcome you into their creative space and introduce you to the art of traditional basket weaving. Learn how natural materials are prepared, how patterns are formed, and how weaving plays an important role in community life and heritage.
With step-by-step guidance, create your own handcrafted basket using authentic techniques. As you weave, your hosts will share the meaning behind various designs and how baskets are used in everyday Kenyan life—from storage to ceremonies.
This experience is more than a workshop. It’s a meaningful connection to local culture, a way to support women artisans, and a chance to take home a souvenir you made yourself.
