Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in Nairobi and head to the scenic highlands of Limuru, known for its cool climate and lush tea plantations. Arrive at Sensory Garden Tea Farm, one of Kenya’s oldest tea farms Take a guided walk through the tea plantations and learn about tea cultivation and harvesting. Visit the processing area and enjoy freshly brewed Kenyan tea with homemade snacks while learning about the farm’s colonial and agricultural history. Next, take a guided walk through the indigenous forest areas surrounding the tea farm. During the walk, you may see colobus monkeys, native birds, and indigenous trees and plants. Enjoy a three-course farm-style lunch served at the farmhouse overlooking the tea fields. Lunch includes fresh farm ingredients, traditional Kenyan dishes, and vegetarian options. After lunch, depart Limuru and drive to Fairview Coffee Estate in Kiambu. Arrive at the coffee estate and begin a guided coffee experience. Walk through the coffee plantation and learn about coffee growing and harvesting. See the coffee processing plant and understand roasting techniques. Enjoy a coffee tasting session featuring several varieties of Kenyan coffee. Learn how to identify flavor notes and have the opportunity to purchase freshly roasted coffee.
