Description
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Nairobi. Board a car to Nanyuki town for lunch. Pass through the central part of Kenya, stopping at the equator, which divides the Earth into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Arrive at the gate in the evening and start your trek to Old Moses Camp, where you’ll spend your first night. Enjoy dinner and breakfast, with accommodation in bandas or tents.
Wake up early for breakfast and start your trek at 7:30 AM. Walk through Mackinders, taking in the best views of the glaciers and peaks of Mount Kenya, including Uhuru Peak, Batian, and Nelion. Spot different types of birds, animals, and vegetation along the way. Have lunch before arriving at Shipton Camp, where you’ll spend the night.
Wake up very early at 2:00 AM for breakfast and proceed to the summit, aiming to arrive before sunrise at 5:00 AM at Point Lenana, at a height of 4,985m. From the peak, enjoy views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, and the three peaks of Mount Kenya, including Batian.
After Point Lenana, descend to Shipton Camp for breakfast, then continue descending to the bandas, where you’ll spend the night. After breakfast, start descending. Depending on your energy, you can walk halfway and use a car to the gate. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon.
