Description

On this day, our friendly driver will come to pick you up from your hotel, apartment, or even the airport. The Kitengela Hot Glass is just about 22 miles from Nairobi city centre, situated right on the edge of Nairobi National Park—a beautiful spot to enjoy! Walk through this legendary site while learning about the history of Kitengela Glass through exhibitions and storytelling. Upon arrival, breathtaking mosaic pathways lead you to hidden treasures. The magical atmosphere of the place is enhanced by sculptures, animals, and hidden mosaic walkways that lead to the busy work areas of the artisans, where beautiful artworks, jewelry, and home décor items are created from recycled glass and other materials. There is also a bridge where you can cross a high, suspended bridge over a beautiful canyon. Be guided through the glass workshop, where everything will be explained in detail. After the workshop, head to the studios, where you will see how the production process works and even have the chance to try a bit of glass blowing yourself. To finish your visit on a sweet note, there’s a cozy vegetarian café where you can relax with a cappuccino or ice cream. The afternoon you will return to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.

  • The tour departs from Nairobi at 9:00 a.m. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, a hat, and sunscreen to stay hydrated and protected from the sun. Insect repellent is recommended due to the outdoor setting. The journey to Kitengela Glass Studios takes approximately 45 minutes. The site is located on the edge of Nairobi National Park. Participants will have the chance to try glass blowing. There is a high, suspended adrenaline bridge to cross. Please note that smoking and littering are prohibited to preserve the beauty of the sites, please avoid touching the artworks.
