Description

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Kenyan tea farming on an exclusive visit to the RedHill family farm near Nairobi. Tea varieties, such as green, black, and white tea, are created solely through fermentation techniques. Purple tea is a new tea variety from Kenya, whose range of flavors and aromas is still largely unknown (even to tea experts worldwide) and which we make available to you here in a unique way.

Your experience begins with a warm welcome from experienced tea farmers, who will give you a traditional picking basket and explain what is important when picking tea and which tea leaves are at the right stage of ripeness. You will enter the lush fields and, under guidance, collect the young, purple, and green tea leaves. (As mentioned, all other types of tea are only created through processing.)

After picking, you'll learn in the processing workshop how fine tea is made from the fresh leaves: From withering to rolling by hand to oxidation and drying in the wok – you will be actively involved, experiencing and participating directly in every step of the process. In the covered rustic tea haven, you will taste your homemade tea while the tea master shows you what is important in the preparation, aroma, and taste of the cup.

To finish, a tour of the sustainable Redhill project facility awaits you. Here you can see how innovative methods and environmental awareness are combined to improve regional agriculture and the lives of farmers. Finally, you will receive a small bag of purple tea as a souvenir – a delightful ending to a unique experience characterized by craftsmanship, tradition, and sustainability.
