Description
Your adventure begins with a 7:00 AM pickup from your hotel or residence in Nairobi. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley escarpment as you head toward Hell's Gate National Park, arriving around 9:00 AM.
Upon arrival, start a thrilling 2-hour guided cycling tour through the park. Hell’s Gate is one of the few national parks in Kenya where visitors can explore by bicycle. Ride along open savannah trails while spotting wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, elands, hartebeests, and Thomson’s gazelles. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 100 species including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vultures, and swifts soaring above the cliffs.
After cycling, leave the bikes behind and venture on foot into the park’s dramatic gorges and rock formations. During a guided 1-hour gorge walk, explore narrow passages, caves, and towering sandstone walls shaped by ancient volcanic activity.
Continue your cultural journey with a visit to a traditional Maasai village, where you’ll learn about the customs, lifestyle, and heritage of the Maasai people who inhabit the Great Rift Valley.
At around 1:00 PM, travel to the lakeshore for lunch at the famous Naivasha Fisherman’s Camp (lunch at your own expense).
After lunch, embark on a 1-hour boat safari on Lake Naivasha starting around 2:00 PM. Glide across the calm waters while observing hippos resting near the shoreline and an incredible variety of birds such as African fish eagles, flamingos, spoonbills, and grebes.
At approximately 4:00 PM, begin the return journey to Nairobi, arriving at your accommodation between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
