Description
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kitale after breakfast. Drive to Saiwa Swamp National Park, which is about 22 km from Kitale via the A1 road towards Kapenguria and then a 5 km murram road to the Saiwa Gate. You will spend the day exploring the swamp and forest areas. Focus on spotting the park's signature Sitatunga antelope and the rare De Brazza's monkey. You may also see other animals like bushbucks, various monkeys, and otters. Saiwa Swamp is an Important Bird Area, so bring binoculars to spot species like the Ross's Turaco, African Blue Flycatcher, and Lesser Swamp Warbler. Look for various insects, reptiles, and plant species, with many trees labeled for identification. Enjoy a packed lunch, often at the Sitatunga campsite within the park. Continue exploring the forest, wetlands, and observation towers to take advantage of the cooler afternoon light for wildlife viewing and photography. Later drop off at your hotel.Includes
