Description
Day 1: The Art of Tea & The Potter's Touch Start your day with a tour of Kiambethu Tea Farm. Learn how tea is grown and processed, and enjoy a pot of the freshest tea you'll ever taste right there on the farm. Engage in a 'tea leaf photography' session, capturing the patterns of tea leaves, the dew on the plants, and the play of light through the camellia sinensis bushes. Next, enjoy a delicious lunch at The Verge Restaurant & Café in their serene, garden-like setting. Their menu often features fresh, local ingredients. In the afternoon, take a scenic drive through the breathtaking terraced tea estates of Tigoni. Stop at a safe, scenic viewpoint for photos. Visit Mango Studios, a hidden creative hub. Browse the beautiful, handmade ceramics and even get a quick, hands-on lesson on the potter's wheel. In the evening, enjoy a cozy fireside dinner at The Lantern Restaurant at the Limuru Country Club or at your lodge. Given Limuru's chilly evenings, this is the perfect time for a hearty meal by a fireplace. Think warm soup, roast meat, and a glass of red wine. Day 2: Forest Canopies & The Waterfall's Roar Start your day immersed in nature at the Limuru Arboretum & Canopy Walk. The arboretum is a peaceful sanctuary with a diverse collection of trees and birdlife. The main attraction is the canopy walkway, which lets you stroll among the treetops, offering a unique perspective of the forest. Next, head to The Tin Roof Café, a charming, rustic café nestled in the countryside. With its corrugated iron roof and eclectic decor, it feels like a step back in time. They serve excellent coffee, homemade cakes, and light lunches. In the afternoon, visit Fourteen Falls. The sight and sound of the 14 cascades of water plunging into the gorge are powerful. You can take a boat ride to get closer to the falls. It’s a dramatic contrast to the morning's serene forest walk. On your way out of town, stop at the Savannah Tea Room & Shop. Pick up some freshly packed tea directly from the factory at great prices. It's the perfect, authentic souvenir to take home – a literal taste of Limuru to enjoy long after your trip is over.Includes
