Description
DAY 1: NAIROBI TO SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE Get picked up from your hotel in Nairobi by our representative. Drive North of Nairobi to Samburu National reserve (6hrs drive). Arrive to lodge in time for your lunch. Afternoon siesta followed by evening game drive in the reserve. Samburu Game Reserve is a rugged and semi-desert park located in Samburu district in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The park neighbors the homes of the Samburu tribe of Kenya, a tribe known for their remote culture, pastoral and nomadic way of life. Besides the numerous wildlife found in this game reserve, the park is also a bird haven. The reserve is reach in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. The reserve is also popular with a lot of elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are an important attraction. Return to camp for dinner and Overnight. Accommodation on full board basis at Samburu Simba Lodge (Or Similar) DAY 2: EXPLORE SAMBURU Relaxed morning breakfast then depart for a morning game drive in the reserve. Samburu is a home to the third of Kenya’s giraffe species – the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). Birdlife is abundant with over 450 species recorded. Birds of the arid northern bush country are augmented by a number of riverine forest species. Lesser Kestrel and the Taita Falcon are species of global conservation concern and they both utilize the reserve. Five species categorized as vulnerable have been recorded in the reserve. These include; African Darter, Great Egret, White-headed Vulture, Martial Eagle and the Yellow-billed Ox-pecker. You have an option to drive to one of the villages for a mid-morning cultural encounter with the Samburu tribe. The Samburu are known for their many unique cultural practices and traditions. Some of these originate from their nomadic way of life. Return to camp for lunch (you may also opt to carry picnic lunch boxes in the morning for a full day experience). Afternoon siesta and an evening game drive. Return to camp for dinner and Overnight. Accommodation on full board basis at Samburu Simba Lodge (Or Similar) DAY 3: SAMBURU MARA TO NAIROBI Wake up to an early morning breakfast, bid goodbye to Samburu for en-route game and a five-hour drive back to Nairobi. An opt of souvenir shopping in Karen and farewell lunch at Talisman hotel (Own Cost) after which you will be dropped at the airport, hotel or location of your choice within Nairobi.Includes
